The City of Goodyear Economic Development announced in a LinkedIn post that the facility located at 45 S. Bullard Avenue, just outside of Phoenix, was topped out this week.

Set on a 14-acre plot, AZ14 is expected to span 451,000 sq ft (41,900 sqm) across two stories. Vantage first unveiled plans for the facility in December last year when it applied to have the land rezoned.

Located just north of Vantage’s AZ1 development, the parcel of land has been integrated into the operator’s existing AZ1 campus plans.

At full buildout, the AZ1 campus will offer 176MW of IT capacity across five facilities. It was initially only set to include three buildings, but the operator has since added two more after acquiring the additional 14-acre parcel.

Vantage bought the land in early 2019 and began construction work the same year. It completed work on the first building in November 2021.

Compass currently operates a campus less than a mile away, also in Goodyear. Earlier this year, Stream Data Centers topped out a second facility on its Goodyear Campus.

Phoenix is a major data center hub, home to the likes of EdgeCore, Meta, Google, and NTT, as well as Stack, Prime, Aligned, Iron Mountain, QTS, EdgeConneX, Expedient, Centersquare, and H5. Microsoft operates a cloud region out of the area.
