The first phase of the campus will be located in Meito Sangyo Building, which was acquired by Gaw Capital in 2021. It will offer 18MW of capacity across ten data halls, and completion is estimated for mid-2027.

At full buildout, the campus will offer 80MW of capacity and around 66,360 sqm (710,000 sq ft).

Phase two will be located in the Fuchu Building, which was acquired in 2022. Phase Three will be situated in an unnamed property, acquired in May of last year, near the two other data centers.

DayOne is the international unit of Chinese data center firm GDS. Formerly GDS International, the unit changed its name in January of this year and launched as an independent company following the completion of a series B funding round.

The company recently broke ground on its first data center in Singapore.

Hong Kong-based Gaw Capital is a private equity firm focusing on real estate markets across Asia-Pacific, with investments in residential development, offices, malls, hospitality, warehouses, and data centers.

It launched a data center in Batam, Indonesia, with Indonesian real estate business Sinar Primera in February, and has previously invested in data centers through a joint venture with Centrin in China, and previously broke ground on a data center joint venture with A3 Capital in Malaysia.

It has also announced investments and/or projects in Tokyo, South Korea, and Vietnam. Gaw was reportedly interested in bidding for Global Switch, but didn’t make the final bidders' shortlist.
