Vantage has filed to develop another data center in San Antonio, Texas.

First reported by the San Antonio Express News, Vantage has filed a new Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) application with the state of Texas for a data center.

The TX12 project, to be located at 17420 Omicron Drive in Bexar County, is described as a “new Vantage data center at [the] TX1 campus consisting of [a] two-story building with up to 96MW of critical IT capacity” across 432,800 sq ft (40,208 sqm).

The $276.8 million project is set to run from October 2025 until August 2027. Jacobs is listed as the project design firm.

The company acquired land along Omicron Drive in July 2023 from the University of Texas System Board of Regents.

Vantage filed for another data center at the campus – TX11 – in December 2023. That project – a 32MW two-story building spanning 242,665 sq ft (22,545 sqm) – is set to go live in early 2026.

In addition to the Omicron Drive development, Vantage purchased 31 acres on the north corner of State Highway 151 and Wiseman Boulevard, also in San Antonio, in August 2023.

Both land parcels are near a large Microsoft campus at 15000 Lambda Drive, where the company recently completed another 79,385 sq ft (7,375 sqm) data center, known as SAT46.

CloudHQ, CyrusOne, and QTS are also looking to develop in the Texas Research Park, while Amazon is planning three data centers in the San Antonio area.
