European cloud and data center firm OVHcloud has launched a new availability zone for its cloud region in Germany, as well as an inferencing platform in partnership with SambaNova.

The region in Germany is OVH's third three-availability zone region in Europe, following France and Italy, and is based in Berlin. The company had two availability zones already operating in the country.

OVH leases space in data centers as well as building its own. The company has not stated which data centers or operators it is using for the region.

"Our new three-AZ region in Berlin will strengthen the security and resilience of European digital infrastructures. With this location, we are confirming our ambition to support the entire economy, regardless of sector or organization size. European digital sovereignty is not built with isolated champions, but with systemic players capable of operating on an international scale," said Octave Klaba, founder and CEO of OVHcloud.

The company has said it will add additional three-availability-zone regions in other European cities in the future.

OVH has more than 40 core data centers in operation and under construction in France, Canada, the US, Australia, Germany, Poland, Singapore, India, Italy, and the UK. These are a mix of self-built and leased locations. The company also has local zone Edge locations in some 28 metros globally.

In addition to the cloud region, OVH has launched a new inferencing service in partnership with SambaNova.

Dubbed OVHcloud AI EndPoint, the offering uses SambaNova's SambaStack platform and SambaNova's custom reconfigurable dataflow units, enabling rapid inferencing capabilities.

SambaNova was reportedly exploring a sale in October 2025, with Intel said to be in talks.

Last month, OVH announced a new cooling architecture for its data centers, which it said could reduce water consumption by up to 30 percent and cooling electricity consumption by up to 50 percent.
