Google has confirmed its intention to develop a data center in LaGrange, Troup County, Georgia.

Some 70 miles (112 kilometers) southwest of Atlanta, the company has been linked to a project in LaGrange since earlier this month, when the LaGrange Fire Department revealed it had rescued a worker from a Google data center construction site at 411 Pegasus Parkway after being injured on the data center roof.

As reported by 11Alive, Google will front any costs for power at the site and infrastructure needs. A report from the Atlanta Business Chronicle confirmed the data center announced was located at 411 Pegasus Parkway.

“We are excited to welcome Google to LaGrange and look forward to their partnership with our community,” said LaGrange City Manager Patrick Bowie. "Google’s decision to locate here fills a vital void in our utility system left by the closing of our largest electric customer. We are working with their team to invest in infrastructure improvements that will benefit all utility customers while exerting downward pressure on rates.”

Google's regional head of data center public affairs, Jen Ryan, added that this "represents another chapter in our deep partnership with Georgia — a state that continues to lead with innovation and vision.

"More than just building a data center, our goal is to be a good neighbor, and that starts on day one by investing in local priorities, creating opportunities, and working with residents to build a strong future together."

The 411 Pegasus Parkway project was previously owned by Thor Equities and is being developed by its data center division, Form8ation. Thor acquired the 270-acre site in 2024, but has since told DCD that it is no longer involved in the project. The campus was targeting 100MW of capacity.

Also in the LaGrange area is a 1.5 million sq ft (139,355 sqm) data center campus, filed for by Project West WHP - GA LLC in March 2025. Details about the end user or company behind Project West were not shared.

Google has an existing data center campus in Douglas County, near Atlanta. That campus was built in 2007 and expanded in 2015.

Google is also developing in Monro County, Georgia, having purchased 950 acres in the area in October 2025. Another 1.2GW data center in Irwin County, Georgia, has been linked with Google but has not been officially announced.
