A construction worker at a Google data center site in Georgia had to be airlifted to a nearby hospital after suffering an injury.

At around 2:47pm local time on Friday (April 3), the LaGrange Fire Department was called to Google’s data center construction site located at 411 Pegasus Parkway for a reported injury involving a worker on the roof of the structure.

The unnamed individual had reportedly sustained injuries while working approximately 50 feet (15.24 meters) above ground level. Full details of the incident have not been shared.

Fire crews used Tower 31, an 85-foot (25.9-meter) platform, to reach the injured worker. The on-site response team provided immediate medical care while stabilizing the patient on the roof before lowering them to the ground.

Once off the roof, the Air Evac 77 air ambulance service was requested and landed at the site, transporting the patient to a regional trauma center.

The individual was reported to be in a “serious but stable condition.”

LaGrange is a city in and the county seat of Troup County, some 70 miles (112 kilometers) southwest of Atlanta.

A former manufacturing site, 411 Pegasus Parkway is owned by Thor Equities and is being developed by its data center division, Form8ation. Thor acquired the 270-acre site in 2024.

On its website, Form8tion says the LGA-1 site currently has 50MW of power, but is scalable to 400MW. The site is reportedly set for delivery in Q4 2026/Q1 2027.

Google’s name has not previously been tied to the project.

DCD has reached out to Google and Thor/Form8tion for comment.

Update: A spokesperson for Thor said the company has sold the property and is no longer involved in the project.
