A large technology campus is being proposed in West Georgia.
Project West WHP - GA LLC this week filed a Development of Regional Impact application with the Georgia Department of State Affairs for a technology campus known as Project West.
The project, on 513 acres of land located in unincorporated Troup County, with a request to be annexed into the city of LaGrange, would be for a “technology park/data center campus.”
An address wasn’t provided, but coordinates suggest the campus would be on land bordered by Bartley Road, Whitesville Road, Hamilton Road, and GA-403. The site is bisected by a transmission line.
Project West would include six 252,000 sq ft (23,410 sqm) industrial buildings – totaling 1.5 million sq ft (139,355 sqm) – as well as an electrical substation.
Phase I would be completed by 2028, with Phases II and III following in 2030 and 2033, respectively. The filing suggests the campus’ value would total $6bn at full build-out.
Further details on the company behind Project West WHP - GA LLC haven’t been shared.
LaGrange is located some 68 miles southwest of Atlanta and 46 miles north of Columbus. It is close to the state border with Alabama.
Thor Equities has previously announced plans for a 270-acre data center project in LaGrange. The campus would total 100MW.
