Indus Cloud, Indus DC REIT, and financial services company UBL are partnering up to develop cloud computing and data center infrastructure across Pakistan.

Together, they will establish Tier III standard data centers across the company, from which Indus Cloud's cloud platform will be offered.

Indus DC REIT will develop and operate the data centers. The cloud offering, provided by Indus Cloud, meanwhile, is expected to support high-performance computing and data sovereignty while meeting security standards.

UBL joins the initiative as an investor and partner and will also use the resulting digital infrastructure once established to support the bank's digital transformation.

It is unclear where in Pakistan the data centers will be established. Timelines for construction and deployment have also not been provided. According to Indus Cloud's website, it currently operates a 3.5MW data center in Lahore, and a facility in Nooriabad with up to 20MW of capacity.

This is not the only cloud deal Indus has signed in Pakistan. Just last month, Indus Cloud partnered with Pakistan Telecommunication Company Ltd to bring cloud services to the country. That agreement would see Indus using PTCL's infrastructure to offer cloud services based on a Huawei cloud stack. Indus and Huawei announced plans to establish a data center from which to offer cloud services in Pakistan in August 2025.

Pakistan has a relatively small data center market. According to Data Center Map, it currently has 30 data centers split between three markets: Lahore, Karachi, and Islamabad. Operators include PTCL, Multinet, Chapal, Supernet, Cybernet, and Vision Telecom, among others.
