Digital Bridge-owned AIMS has acquired 10 acres of land in Malaysia to develop a data center facility with 200MW of capacity.

AIMS said that the facility will see approximately RM4 billion ($1bn) worth of investment, with construction scheduled for completion in 2027.

The facility, which will be AIMS’ “next flagship ecosystem and hyperscale facility,” will be located in Cyberjaya, a planned city outside of Malaysia’s capital Kuala Lumpur.

But more details about the location of the data center were not disclosed.

AIMS acquired the parcel from state-owned developer Cyberview, which was founded in 1996 to establish basic infrastructure for companies who wanted to set up shop in Cyberjaya.

The company already operates a 50MW data center in Cyberjaya, which began construction in 2020.

Previously a subsidiary of telecom company Time dotCom, AIMS was acquired by DigitalBridge in November 2022.

According to its website, the company offers colocation, disaster recovery, managed services, and support services.
