The company broke ground on the S3 site in Artarmon, located on Sydney's lower North Shore, in March 2021. An official opening ceremony is due to take place in September.

The Tier IV-rated facility spans 34,000 square meters (366,000 sq ft) over eight stories and deliver more than 20,000 sq m (215,000 sq ft) of data center floor space and 4,000 sq m (43,000 sq ft) of critical office space. It will directly interconnect with NextDC’s existing S1 and S2 Sydney data centers. The facility is expected to reach up to 80MW when fully developed.

The company has two facilities currently live in Sydney – S1 & S2 – in Macquarie Park, offering a combined 46MW across 14,500 sqm.

S4 in west Sydney’s Horsley Park will be a hyperscale campus offering up to 300MW across 124,000 sqm (1,334,724 sq ft). The site is a former brick quarry, with NextDC acquiring the land last year from CSR.

NextDC has facilities in operation and development in Brisbane, Canberra, Adelaide, Darwin, Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, and the Sunshine Coast.
