Microsoft paid $30.65 million for three parcels on the north side of Refugee Road between Mink Street and Etna Parkway in the Pataskala Corporate Park in Licking County.

The land is largely undeveloped and adjacent to a substation.

"We don’t have anything definitive to share at this time but can confirm we are committed to supporting Ohio’s digital transformation with the Microsoft cloud," the company told the Dispatch. "We believe there is great opportunity for Microsoft’s cloud services to support local business growth and innovation in Ohio."

This is the latest land purchase for Microsoft in the Columbus area. The cloud company acquired nearly 200 acres near Beech Road in New Albany in June. Microsoft paid $56.9 million from New Albany Company affiliate MBJ Holdings.

The Dispatch also reports Microsoft paid $4.7 million for 16 acres on Ganton Road in New Albany over the summer. The site is reportedly currently a Scioto Ready Mix operation and across the road from a Meta data center.

Amazon, Google, QTS, Aligned Cologix, and Meta are all present and/or developing in Columbus, mostly around New Albany, located to the northeast. DBT and Lincon/Harrison Street are also planning campuses in the area, close to a planned Intel chip hub.

Aligned's recent land purchase in the area was also in Pataskala, along Mink Street to the north of Microsoft's plot.
