T-Mobile has landed a contract with Siemens Energy to provide the company with its SuperMobile connectivity platform.

The US carrier's SuperMobile runs on T-Mobile's 5G-Advanced (5G-A) network and will support Siemens Energy's US operations across manufacturing sites to remote installation and service jobs.

Siemens Energy's equipment supports nearly 25 percent of all US energy generation. Across the country, the company has 13,000 employees at 25 facilities and 14 service centers in this country.

The company's tie-up with T-Mobile means it can provide its workers with carrier's network.

According to T-Mobile, Siemens Energy uses T-Mobile’s SuperMobile for intelligent connectivity, built-in security, and satellite-to-cell coverage that keeps crews connected.

Serving up a slice

T-Mobile's SuperMobile service enables the carrier to cut slices of the network for Siemens Energy through its advanced 5G network slicing. The carrier explained that this can help workers to communicate quicker, through real-time collaboration between field crews and engineering teams, to rapid data transfers and live video diagnostics.

The carrier notes that its SuperMobile service also integrates enterprise-grade encryption and authentication to bolster security for critical infrastructure.

As part of the company's partnership, Siemens Energy also has access to T-Mobile's satellite network, T-Satellite.

The operator launched its satellite-to-mobile network with Starlink in July.
