US data center firm Stack Infrastructure has secured $900 million in green financing to support the construction of its NVA05 campus in Manassas, Virginia.
The NVA05 facility is a proposed 62-acre 200MW data center campus in Northern Virginia's Price William County, located next to existing high-voltage transmission lines connected to a Novec substation, which will be expanded to support the site.
The company said the project will deploy Stacks' efficient, low-water-use design and be powered by 100 percent renewable energy.
Commenting on the successful financing, Tim Hughes, chief development officer at Stack, said: “By fully funding this project, we reassure our clients and partners of our ability to deliver digital infrastructure that supports their growth with speed, scale, and certainty.”
According to a company brochure, NVA05 was originally planned to have a capacity of 84MW and span two buildings on a 34-acre site.
However, following the financing announcement it seems that Stack has quietly expanded the center to more than double its initially announced capacity.
DCD has contacted Stack to confirm the updated details and timeline for the project.
Stack has several data centers operating and developing within Virginia.
In November 2022, Stack broke ground on its NVAL3 hyperscale campus in Prince William County.
December 2023 saw Stack announce that it had acquired land to expand its NVA02 campus.
Last year, the company secured $1.3 billion in financing for data center projects, of which $700m would be dedicated to those in Loudoun and Prince William counties in Virginia.
In January, Stack announced a new 72MW campus in Leesburg, Virginia. Known as NVA-06, the 32-acre site will initially host a 48MW building set to deliver Q2 2025, followed by a second 24MW building to follow soon after,
In August, the company raised a further $3bn fund for US data center projects, including in Virginia.
