The Generation Extreme-Climate Battery (Gen-ECB) platform is a graphene-based lithium-ion battery system that the company claims can operate reliably in extreme temperatures, ranging from −80°C to +60 °C (-112°F to +140°F). According to the company, the Gen-ECB can harness graphene's thermal conductivity and radiation resistance to actively regulate temperature within battery cells, thereby reducing the risk of thermal runaway, and can draw heat from external sources such as solar panels.

The system is expected to complement Solidion’s broader battery platform, which comprises silicon-rich all-solid-state lithium-ion cells, anode-less lithium metal, and high-energy-density lithium-sulfur batteries.

"Powering missions in the vacuum of space requires technology that can perform amid intense solar radiation, extreme temperature fluctuations, and the severe vibrations of a launch payload. Solidion's Gen-ECB and advanced battery platforms deliver exactly that — stable, reliable energy storage engineered for the harshest environments humanity has ever operated in. We are actively engaging with aerospace partners to integrate Solidion's technology into next-generation vehicles and infrastructure, positioning our shareholders at the forefront of the multi-planetary future," said Jaymes Winters, CEO of Solidion Technology.

In addition to its utility in space, the company claims that the system can also power AI data center Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems and aerospace applications. The announcement follows the October launch of its UPS system for the artificial intelligence data center market. The Peak Series - short for Power, Energy, Anode, Knowledge - will incorporate the company’s silicon-carbon anode 5500 battery cell into a modular format for data center operators.

Headquartered in Dallas, Texas, with pilot production facilities in Dayton, Ohio, Solidion is a battery manufacturer focused on developing next-generation batteries for energy storage systems and electric vehicles for ground, air, and sea transportation.
