The National Fisheries Authority (NFA) in Papua New Guinea has installed an Edge data center at one of its sites.
“We’ve introduced Zellabox to one of our sites, a micro data center designed for versatile environments where traditional data centers fall short,” said Samson Pusal, senior IT officer at NFA, in a recent LinkedIn post.
He continued: “This portable unit, akin to a compact fridge, is perfect for small offices and Edge locations.”
The installation is a Zella Pro solution, currently available in three sizes offering both single and dual cooling options. The Zella Pro models are said to typically only take one to two hours to install.
Previously known as Zellabox, Zella DC was founded in Perth, Western Australia, and offers a number of micro data center products – self-contained, single-rack data center pods that can be deployed inside buildings or outside.
Zella previously offered a line of outdoor micro data centers known as Zella Huts that are no longer listed on the company's website. Japan’s IIJ has previously deployed a 12U Zella Hut at its Shiroi Data Center Campus in Shiroi, Chiba Prefecture.
The Zella Hut solution has now been replaced by the company’s Zella Outback outdoor solution.
The National Fisheries Authority of Papua New Guinea was established in 1998 aiming to create an internationally sustainable fishing industry and to provide food security to the region.
