Oak Hill Capital has completed its acquisition of Oregon fiber optic provider Hunter Communications.

The deal, first announced back in December, was confirmed this week.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Founded in 1994, the company's network has passed approximately 100,000 locations, while Hunter serves nearly 35,000 customers across the Pacific Northwest.

Hunter currently operates a 3,000-plus-mile fiber network, and serves communities including Medford, Grants Pass, Klamath Falls, Eugene, Salem, McMinnville, and parts of Northern California.

The acquisition will see the company expand its fiber network into more parts of Oregon and Northern California. Hunter noted that this will be supported through significant capital from Oak Hill.

As part of these plans, Hunter aims to grow in both existing and new markets, including Salem, Eugene, and southern Oregon.

"Partnering with Oak Hill allows us to build on our momentum, expand our network faster, and reach more communities—while continuing to deliver high-quality service at a fair price."

According to Hunter, its expanded network will introduce enhanced multi-gig services, with symmetrical speeds up to 8 Gbps in select markets, supporting growing demand for high-performance connectivity.

As the deployment ramps up, Hunter said it expects to create new jobs across the state, supporting roles in construction, network operations, and customer service.
