NTT Global Data Centers is acquiring land in Bangkok, Thailand, for a new data center.

The company this week announced it had secured a land purchase agreement with Amata Corporation Public Company Limited to acquire land in the Chonburi area of the Thai capital.

The purchase will support the development of the new Bangkok 5 (BKK5) Data Center.

Full details of the planned data center haven't been shared.

"BKK5 will become NTT GDC's fourth site in Thailand's Chonburi industrial area, joining BKK2, BKK3, along with the newly secured land for BKK4," the company said.

NTT launched BKK2 in 2015: the site totals 5MW, with capacity for 1,500 racks across 9,600 sqm. The nearby BKK3 offers 14MW: the company broke ground on the site in 2024 and was due to launch the facility in the second half of 2025. BKK4 is due to launch in Q2 2027.
