Data center developer NTT Data Centers has signed a 100MW Power Purchase Agreement with Thai electrical utility B.Grimm Power to power its upcoming Bangkok 4 data center in Thailand.

The PPA was signed with B.Grimm's subsidiary, Amata B.Grimm Power, and will power the latest data center being developed at NTT’s Chonburi campus. Energization at the data center is expected to occur in Q2 of 2027.

The deal builds on several previous agreements between the two companies, with B.Grimm powering NTT’s Bangkok 2 and 3 facilities, both located at the Amata City Chonburi industrial estate. NTT’s Bangkok 2 facility, launched in 2015, offers 3.6MW across 3,800 sqm (40,902 sq ft). Its Bangkok 3 facility spans 4,000 sqm (43,055 sq ft) and has a capacity of 12MW.

In a statement reflecting on the latest PPA, the company stated: “Thailand remains a strategic hub for NTT Global Data Centers in APAC, and long-term power planning is central to how we deliver for our customers. We value the trust we’ve built with Amata B.Grimm Power, and we look forward to exploring new opportunities together as the market evolves.”

The Bangkok 4 data center would be NTT’s fourth in the country, all located within the Bangkok metropolitan area. The city is fast becoming a hotspot for data center development. According to Data Center Map, the city has 44 operational facilities across 13 operators.

B.Grimm Power, founded in 1993, is one of Thailand’s largest industrial power producers. According to its website, the company currently has an installed capacity of 3,338MW and aims to obtain Power Purchase Agreements totaling 10GW by 2030.

As one of Thailand's biggest industrial energy producers, B.Grimm has increasingly targeted the burgeoning data center sector as an emerging offtaker. Reports surfaced in 2024 that the utility planned to spend between 5 billion baht ($145 million) and 7 billion baht ($203 million) to support its expansion into the data center power market.

In June of last year, the utility partnered with Digital Edge to develop a series of hyperscale and AI-ready data center campuses across Thailand. The companies subsequently broke ground on their first data center project outside Bangkok in September. The data center is expected to reach operational capacity in Q4 2026 and will have a capacity of 100MW at full buildout.
