NTT has broken ground on a new data center in Bangkok, Thailand.
“We are thrilled to announce the start of construction on our Bangkok 3 Data Center. The data center will be a state-of-the-art Tier III-designated facility with 12MW of IT capacity,” the company said on LinkedIn this week.
Originally announced in March 2023, commercial operations are set to launch in H2 2025.
The 4,000 sqm (43,055 sq f) facility is set to be located adjacent to BKK2 at the Amata City Chonburi industrial estate. NTT originally said the $90 million facility was to begin operations in the second half of 2024.
NTT’s Bangkok 2 facility, launched in 2015, offers 3.6MW across 3,800 sqm. The company acquired a majority stake in local firm Digital Port Asia in 2013. Bangkok 1, located in the Bang Na district, offers 1.6MW.
