South Korea's Naver Cloud and Vietnam's IT and telecommunications firm FPT are teaming up to bring more AI capacity across the Asia-Pacific region.

The two companies signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to expand their respective AI data center businesses and market presence.

Using FPT's so-called 'AI factory' model for enterprises, the companies will also offer access to Naver Cloud's AI model, HyperClova X. In addition, they will conduct regular technical exchange programs to optimize GPU infrastructure and inference performance.

Mr. Le Hong Viet, CEO of FPT Smart Cloud, FPT Corporation, said: “FPT has invested in advancing our AI cloud capabilities through AI factories, supported by engineering teams with proven experience across multiple markets. We look forward to working with Naver Cloud to bring AI models closer to enterprise customers and develop new ways for businesses across Asia-Pacific and beyond to adopt AI with confidence and turn innovation into real business value.”

Mr. Yuwon Kim, CEO of Naver Cloud, added: "Through this collaboration with FPT, Naver Cloud can now combine the AI technologies and experience it has built up with FPT's AI factory and enterprise business capabilities. Building on both companies' technology and business strengths, we will go beyond Korea and Vietnam to address customers' diverse AI needs across the APAC market, and create a partnership that turns those efforts into real business results."

FPT currently operates AI data centers in Japan and Vietnam, which ranked 40th and 53rd in the Top500's most recent list of the world’s most powerful supercomputing systems.

The Vietnam facility uses Xeon Platinum 8462Y+ 32C 2.8GHz processors along with Nvidia H100s, and offers a Linpack performance of 46.56 petaflops. The Japan data center, meanwhile, uses Xeon Platinum 8558 48C 2.1GHz along with Nvidia H200s and has a Linpack performance of 49.85 petaflops.

The company launched its FPT Fornix HCM02 Data Center at the Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Park in Vietnam in August 2025, bringing its number of facilities in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to four.

Naver offers public cloud services through its multi-region Ncloud and its on-premises Neurocloud service, and has a number of data centers in operation and under development. In July of this year, Naver said it would expand its Sejong data center to 200MW of capacity.

Naver currently lists six cloud regions in South Korea, as well as one each in Japan, Germany, Singapore, and the US (West Coast). It is also planning future regions in the US (East Coast), Vietnam, Taiwan, and Thailand, and is expanding into the Middle East and North Africa.
