FPT Corporation last week officially inaugurated and put into operation the FPT Fornix HCM02 Data Center at the Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Park.

The eight-story Fornix HCM02 totals 10,000 sqm (110,000 sq ft) and has capacity for 3,600 racks. Work first started on the project back in 2020.

“FPT Fornix HCM02 is developed according to the carrier neutral model, allowing customers to proactively choose and connect to many telecommunications service providers,” said Tran Hai Duong, chairman and general director of FPT Telecom International, FPT Corporation shared. “This model brings flexibility in connection, optimizes costs, enhances redundancy, improves operational efficiency, and especially creates an open digital ecosystem, contributing to ensuring sovereignty and safety of national digital infrastructure.”

FPT said this is the first data center in Vietnam designed according to LEED Certification.

The company currently owns four data centers in Hanoi (FPT Fornix HN01, FPT Fornix HN02) and in Ho Chi Minh City (FPT Fornix HCM01 and now FPT Fornix HCM02) with a total area of ​​more than 17,000 sqm and a capacity of more than 7,000 racks.

Founded in 1988, FPT is one of the largest IT and telecommunications firms in Vietnam. Officially founded under the name Food Processing Technology, today FPT stands for Financing and Promoting Technology. It offers software, Internet, TV, cloud, telecoms, and various managed services.
