Colocation giant Equinix has signed a virtual Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with renewable energy firm Flo Energy in Singapore.

The deal will see Flo supply Equinix with at least 11.5MW of renewable energy generated from industrial and commercial rooftop solar installations across the country. The agreement also includes an option to expand the capacity to up to 50MW.

"Singapore’s position as a trusted global AI and digital hub will be underpinned by digital infrastructure that is resilient, sustainable and built for the future," said Yee May Leong, managing director, Singapore, Equinix. "Our fourth PPA is a significant milestone that reflects the power of collaboration across Singapore's public and private sectors. As demand for digital infrastructure continues to accelerate, Equinix remains committed to supporting Singapore's position as a global digital hub while advancing the nation's sustainability goals."

The PPA was Flo’s first under its newly launched Data Centre Solutions offering, which is also available to data center operators in Australia through Flo's local business.

Following the latest PPA, Equinix now has a contracted capacity of 215MW across Singapore, all of which is expected to come online in 2028. Collectively, these agreements are expected to generate about 250,000MWh of electricity per year. It has previously signed PPAs with Sembcorp (x2) and TEPCO.

The company has also engaged in national renewable initiatives, including SolarNova 7 and JTC Jurong Island.

Equinix currently operates five data centers in Singapore (SG1, SG2, SG3, SG4, and SG5). It has a sixth facility, dubbed SG6, currently under development, and is slated for completion in Q1 2027.
