Google has told the public it is behind the "Project Clydesdale" data center campus being developed near Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Developed by Beale Infrastructure, Project Clydesdale is a 506-acre campus that will be located near the Cherokee Industrial Park in Owasso.

“The Tulsa Regional Chamber is thrilled that Google is deepening its footprint in northeastern Oklahoma,” said Mike Neal, president and CEO of the Tulsa Regional Chamber. “Google is synonymous with quality and commitment to community. We look forward to furthering a relationship that began nearly 20 years ago when Google announced it was coming to Mid-America Industrial Park in Pryor.” 

The campus was approved by the county Board of Commissioners in September 2025, with construction beginning soon after.

The site is located north of East 76th Street North, east of North Yale Avenue, south of East 86th Street North, and west of North Sheridan Road.

According to the development project plan submitted in 2025, the campus would consist of at least one phase with three possible additional phases, with each phase covering approximately 200,000 sq ft (18,580 sqm) and funded by a private investment of at least $700 million, later increased to $1bn.

Google committed to invest $9bn to expand cloud and AI infrastructure in Oklahoma in August 2025. The cloud and search giant launched its first campus in the state in 2011 in Pryor and is also working on a campus in Stillwater and another in Sand Springs. The Pryor campus has expanded at regular intervals since. To date, it has invested $15bn across the state.

“This project is far more than an infrastructure investment; it is a long-term commitment to Tulsa County’s future,” said Trystine Payfer, Google’s public affairs manager for Oklahoma. “Building data centers the right way means being a good neighbor first. Here in Tulsa County, that means strengthening the local energy grid and creating real, lasting opportunities for local businesses, families, and schools.”

Project Clydesdale will also see Google funding and installing 1.5 miles of new water lines and infrastructure upgrades for Washington County Rural Water District, with the company committing to paying its power and water needs and upgrades.

Earlier this month, the Cherokee Nation in the US said it was blocking data center development on its land in the US. Though Project Clydesdale is located on Cherokee Nation Land, the tribe does not have direct regulatory control.

Meta is also developing in Tulsa, Oklahoma, having broken ground in April of this year.
