Google has committed to investing $9 billion in expanding its cloud and AI infrastructure in the state of Oklahoma.

The investment will be used for the development of Google's upcoming data center campus in Stillwater, and the expansion of its existing facility in Pryor.

Additionally, some of the funds will go to education and workforce development programs.

Google was confirmed to be the applicant behind the Stillwater data center campus in March 2025. Set on 400 acres of land, at the time it was said to see up to $3bn in investment. It is unclear if this remains the case, or if the campus will claim a larger portion of the newly announced $9bn.

Details about the campus remain unclear, but a draft economic development plan from August 2024 suggested up to six buildings and that the data centers will span 300,000 square feet (28,870 sqm) each, with a data center per phase of construction.

The Pryor facility was announced by Google in 2007 and launched in 2011. It has been expanded at regular intervals since.

On the workforce development side, the University of Oklahoma and Oklahoma State University will be part of the Google AI for Education Accelerator initiative, giving them access to Google Career Certificates and AI training courses for free. Google is also giving funding to the Electrical Training Alliance in Oklahoma.

Oklahoma is not a traditionally large data center market, but it is beginning to see some traction.

Recent companies announcing data center projects in Oklahoma include Cerebras, Damac, and CoreWeave with Core Scientific. Meta is rumoured to be developing a 340-acre campus in the state. In May, an application was made for a 500-acre campus in Tulsa. The company behind the project was not named.
