The company also plans to bring another 1MW data hall online in Q2 2026, as part of a roadmap that will push its total capacity at the carrier hotel beyond 10MW.

Hudson IX’s footprint at 60 Hudson spans nearly 173,000 square feet (16,072 sqm) across multiple floors. The company has direct utility access from Con Edison, with a total power capacity of 15MW.

“This expansion is the result of our remarkable team and its commitment to delivering a large, world-class, high-performance data center platform, with scalable solutions ranging from single cabinets to bespoke cages, supporting a wide spectrum of rack densities, all within one of New York City’s most highly connected buildings,” said Atul Roy, CEO of Hudson InterXchange. “We are grateful to our customers for entrusting us with their infrastructure, and we look forward to expanding our facility to support their growing needs.”

Built between 1928 and 1930 as the headquarters of telegraph company Western Union, 60 Hudson is one of the most iconic data centers in the world. The 24-story building was designed to be ‘the largest telegraph building in the world’ and the ‘Telegraph Capitol of America.’

Western Union sold the building in the 1940s but continued to occupy the site until the 1980s, after which it relocated to New Jersey, with the building becoming an AT&T telecoms hub.

The facility is now owned by Stahl-affiliated 60 Hudson Street LLC and managed by Colliers. Hudson IX, Digital Realty, NYI, and DataBank are among some of the building’s tenants.

Founded in 2011 and formerly known as DataGryd, Hudson IX was acquired by Cordiant Digital Infrastructure in early 2022 and rebranded later that year.
