Malaysian technology and software company Sagtec Global has announced plans to build a sovereign AI data center.
Sagtec plans to complete the facility in Q4 2026 through subsidiary CL Technologies,
Full details weren't shared but the facility will use Nvidia GPU architecture, with the aim of supporting daily transactions across food and beverage retail ordering, retail operations, and fintech ecosystems.
Sagtec specializes in point of sale (POS) systems and other enterprise software solutions.
The company said the data center would position it and CL at the “convergence of AI infrastructure, fintech scalability, and high-volume food and beverage retail ordering and retail transaction processing.”
As part of the launch, Sagtec said it will expand CL Technologies, which is currently responsible for data management and analytics within Sagtec.
"Owning our infrastructure is a natural progression as we scale," said Kevin Ng, CEO of Sagtec Global. "With the integration of Nvidia-powered systems and the continued development of CL Technologies, we are strengthening our foundation in data and positioning the Group for long-term growth."
Earlier this month, Sagtec announced the launch of SAGE AI, a self-described “next-generation AI-powered restaurant operating system.”
The company said the system integrates POS infrastructure, operational analytics, predictive AI models, and automated decision-support tools into a unified software platform.
