STC’s data center arm Center3 has signed a colocation deal to host one of the Kingdom’s IT firms.

Center3 and Saudi ICT company Sahara Net have entered a strategic colocation partnership, under which Sahara Net will establish dedicated hosting services within Center3’s data center facilities across the Kingdom.

Further details on the scope of the deployment(s) were not shared.

“Our partnership with Sahara Net reflects Center3’s commitment to building an open and interconnected digital infrastructure that empowers service providers to scale and innovate,” said Fahad AlHajeri, CEO of Center3. “By welcoming Sahara Net into our facilities, we are strengthening Saudi Arabia’s colocation landscape and creating new avenues for growth within the Kingdom’s rapidly evolving digital economy.”

Center3 is a subsidiary of Saudi Telecom and was formed in 2022. It has some 20 data centers in development and operation in and around the Kingdom, as well as Bahrain. It also owns or has capacity on some 16 subsea cables.

The company aims to reach 300MW of total installed capacity by 2027 and 1GW of capacity by 2030.

Founded in 1989, Sahara Net is a Saudi IT firm offering connectivity, cloud, web hosting, cybersecurity, and colocation services. On its website, Sahara Net lists a data center in Riyadh, while Data Center Map and TIA list a facility in Dammam.

Oracle, Zoom, and Huawei are known customers of Center3 facilities, while the company has recently announced partnerships with Humain and DataVolt.
