“The expansion represents another step in atNorth’s continued investment in Finland, strengthening our presence in the Nordics and supporting the growing demand for reliable, high-performance digital infrastructure,” the company said on LinkedIn.

AtNorth’s FIN02 campus is located in Sinimäentie, Espoo. At full build-out, the site will total 40MW across 20,050 sqm (215,815 sq ft). Plans for the original 15MW facility on the site were first announced in 2023, with the facility launching in October 2025.

Construction firm Skanska was tapped for a €100 million ($112m) expansion at the FIN02 site in May 2026. At the time, the company said the project would see development of a new five-story facility totaling 11,200 sqm (120,555 sq ft). Construction began in April 2026 and is set to complete in Q3 2027.

AtNorth was formed as Advania Data Centers in 2012 from three components: Skyrr, a public sector IT specialist in Iceland; Kerfi, a Swedish outfit with roots in a Nokia spin-off called Datapoint; and Hands from Norway.

The company de-merged from the Advania Group in 2017, rebranded to atNorth, and was sold to Swiss investment manager Partners Group in 2021. Equinix and CPP acquired the company earlier this year.

The company currently operates seven data centers across Sweden, Iceland, and Finland, with additional sites under development in Finland, Denmark, Sweden, and Norway.

In Finland, atNorth operates two facilities around the capital, Helsinki, that it acquired from former parent Advania in 2023. The company is also developing FIN04, a 60MW project with potential to reach 430MW, in Kouvola. FIN05 is a 230MW project planned in Salo in southwest Finland.
