DCD>Debate: Liquid cooling dominance - The only hope for data centers?
While the whole industry races to minimize water usage and energy consumption, liquid cooling's ability to entirely replace air cooling remains debatable. However, cooling massive power densities in an energy-constrained, or an energy-rich environment, is still a significant challenge for any solution. With GPUs’ rising heat compounding this issue, is time running out for data centers to meet their sustainability goals? Is there a 'balanced' cooling setup for any energy outputs that achieves success across the board? If such a balance does exist between cooling technologies and energy usage, what would this look like?
Held under Chatham House Rule, DCD>Debates are open discussions led by a panel of experts, on the biggest issues to face the industry.
