Web Werks has announced plans for a 120,000 sq ft (11,100 sqm) data center in Hyderabad, India.
The company said the new Tier III quality facility would have up to 20MVA of gross power and an expected IT load of up to 6MW. The new data center will be the company’s first in the Telangana city, with the first phase of delivery expected to be complete by Q4 2022.
“For Telangana, which has a policy on data centers in place, it is another significant expansion for us. Our data center facility will enable customers to rapidly scale digital transformation strategies by deploying critical infrastructure in a global data center that will offer capacity, cloud, and connectivity,” Web Werks CEO Nikhil Rathi, said.
Last month Web Werks announced plans for a 110,000 sq ft (10,200 sqm), 10MW data center in Bengaluru (also known as Bangalore). The first phase of delivery is expected to be completed by Q4 2022.
The company currently operates facilities in Pune, Delhi NCR, and Mumbai - with plans to launch another 12.5MW data center in the latter city. Last year also saw Web Werks sign an MoU with the Tamil Nadu government to build a data center in Chennai.
Web Werks entered into a joint venture with Iron Mountain Data Centers last year to help the local firm expand its operations in its three existing markets and subsequently expand into Bangalore, Hyderabad, and Chennai.
This week saw Microsoft announce plans to develop a data center in Hyderabad that would become the company’s fourth Azure cloud region in India. Oracle, AWS, and CtrlS all have facilities in the city.
