Announced in a recent LinkedIn post, the company said its KIX11 facility will offer 28MW of IT capacity and is scheduled to be operational by early 2026.

The operator first broke ground on the 12-acre KIX1 campus in May last year. Once complete, the two-facility campus is expected to span 485,000 sq ft (45,000 sqm) and provide 68MW of IT capacity. Both buildings on the campus will use a closed-loop chilled water system.

Taisei Corporation is the primary contractor for the project.

At the end of last year, Vantage announced it had successfully issued its inaugural bonds in the APAC region through its wholly owned subsidiary PowerDC Holdco Pte.

Vantage first entered the APAC market in 2021 after DigitalBridge acquired PCCW’s data center business and merged both it and AgileDC into Vantage.

In the APAC region, Vantage operates data centers in Cyberjaya, Malaysia; On Lok, Kwai Chung, and Fo Tan, Hong Kong; and Melbourne, Australia.

In May last year, Vantage secured €750 million ($813m) in financing to expand its footprint in the EMEA region. The company also secured a $64 million loan for a Taiwan data center in 2024.

Currently, Digital Realty, NTT, Digital Edge, CyrusOne, Colt, AirTrunk, Stack, Telehouse, and Equinix have a presence in the Osaka region.
