Telehouse has launched a new data center in Frankfurt, Germany.

The KDDI-owned company recently announced that it had opened Building N, its sixth data center facility in Frankfurt. The new building adds another 5.4MW at the campus, totaling 9,300 sqm (100,104 sq ft) across four floors and some 2,165 sqm (23,304 sq ft) of technical space.

The company said the data center was established to meet the growing demand for data centers in Europe, driven by factors such as the increasing use of AI. The facility is air-cooled, but Telehouse is exploring adding liquid cooling capacity.

Telehouse entered Frankfurt back in 2021 when it acquired Databurg, rebranding it Telehouse Frankfurt. Located at Kleyerstraße 75-87, the Telehouse Frankfurt site offers 25,000 sqm (269,098 sq ft) data center space over a 67,000 sqm (721,182 sq ft) campus.

Databurg launched the campus around 1998, and the previous facility (Building M) on the site opened in 2023. Telehouse said plans are in place to open a new data center on the same campus by 2030.

Waste heat from the site is used in a district heating network used by residents in the area.

Telehouse was founded in 1998 and has data centers in London, Frankfurt, Istanbul, Paris, Marseille, Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai, Singapore, Tokyo, Bangkok, Los Angeles, New York, and Toronto.
