T-Mobile is set to cut more jobs in the US, with reports suggesting hundreds will be laid off.

As first reported by Geek Wire, T-Mobile confirmed fresh layoffs at the carrier following an announcement last month that it was cutting 393 jobs in Washington state.

The exact number hasn't been confirmed, though a discussion board on TheLayoff.com suggests that up to 600 jobs could be lost.

T-Mobile is estimated to have around 75,000 employees in the US, of which around 8,000 are based in the Seattle area. The cuts have come after Srini Gopalan took over as CEO, replacing Mike Sievert.

In a statement to media outlets, T-Mobile noted that the cuts are part of an alignment of its IT organization.

“To move even faster in a dynamic market while continuing to deliver best-in-class digital experiences for our customers, we’re further aligning our IT organization to support future growth and innovation,” said T-Mobile in a statement to GeekWire last week. “This includes the difficult decision of eliminating some roles while continuing to invest and hire in areas.”

The carrier hasn't quantified the number of roles set to go. Previous cuts in Washington state covered the company's HQ, several data centers, a retail store, a network operations center, plus a call center, with impacted roles including analysts, engineers, technicians, and VPs.

T-Mobile reported revenue of $71.3 billion for the full year 2025, up eight percent year-on-year. During the financial year, the carrier closed its acquisition of Lumos as part of a joint venture with EQT Infrastructure, along with its fiber JV acquisition of Metronet. T-Mobile also sealed its $4.4bn acquisition of regional wireless provider UScellular last year.

T-Mobile isn't the only carrier that has been impacted by job cuts, with Verizon detailing plans to cut 13,000 jobs late last year.
