T-Mobile has set out plans to cut 393 jobs in its home state, Washington.

Hundreds of employees across Bellevue, Bothell, Woodinville, and other cities across the state will be impacted by the cuts, which were announced by T-Mobile via the Washington Employment Security Department.

The layoffs are set to take place on April 2. Monica Frohock, senior director, T-Mobile, stated in a WARN notice that the layoffs are due to “changing business needs."

Significantly, the cuts come in the state where T-Mobile is headquartered, with the carrier based in Bellevue, a suburb near Seattle.

According to the company's LinkedIn, around 8,000 of its 70,000 employees are based in the Seattle area.

As reported by Fox13 Seattle, the jobs are set to be across the company's HQ, several data centers, a retail store, a network operations center, plus a call center, with impacted roles including analysts, engineers, technicians, and VPs.

The cuts include both office-based staff and remote workers.

“As the next step in our evolution, we’re making some changes while continuing to hire to ensure we have the right focus, structure, and momentum to keep changing the industry through innovation and a long-standing focus on customers," said T-Mobile in a statement to the media.

The announcement of the planned job cuts comes a week after Verizon laid off 165 workers in the state in November. Other tech giants have also cut jobs in the region recently, including Amazon and Meta.
