The first 7MW of the planned 40MW campus will be designed to host Nvidia’s HGX Rubin NVL8 hardware. The first phase, designed to deploy 1,728 Nvidia Rubin GPUs, could go live in early 2028.

Full details haven’t been shared, but the project will reportedly be located approximately 3.6 km (2.23 miles) from the Medusa subsea cable landing site in Bizerte, via a routed fiber path.

SoleCrypt said the development is supported by a dedicated 60MW solar and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project across 100 hectares, some 525km (326 miles) away in Tozeur.

Launched in 2022, SoleCrypt focuses on developing data centers powered by solar assets. The company previously outlined plans to develop a 20MW data center in Bizerte.

SoleCrypt signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Safozi, a Tunisian cloud and data infrastructure provider, late last year.

The first phase of the Medusa cable, linking Marseille in France and Bizerte in Tunisia, went live earlier this year.
