US data center firm Rowan has filed to expand one of its sites in Temple, Texas.

Per a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, Rowan aims to develop AUS02 Building 2 at 1855 Bob White Road in Bell County.

The $780 million project will see the construction of a single-story building totaling 500,000 sq ft (46,451 sqm).

Construction is set to run from August 2026 to August 2027.

Set up in 2021 by Quinbrook Infrastructure Partners and Birch Infrastructure, Rowan Digital Infrastructure (formerly known as Rowan Green Data) is developing data centers in Maryland and Oregon, and has sites in Texas near Temple and San Antonio.

Rowan broke ground on the Bob White Road campus in January, with the first building due live next year. The 700-acre campus could reach 300MW at full build-out.

This will be Rowan’s second facility in Temple. First announced in 2021, the company completed its Moriah Data Center, located in the city’s Synergy Park at 2810 Bob White Road, in 2023. However, the tenant vacated the property in 2024, and Rowan is set to repurpose the site as a warehouse.

Blackstone acquired a significant minority stake in the firm earlier this year.
