QTS is looking to expand its data center campus in Chicago.
McKinleypark News this week posted notice of an upcoming community meeting about the expansion of QTS' campus in the area. The meeting will take place on August 26.
“The QTS Chicago data center at 2800 S. Ashland Ave., Chicago, proposes developing an additional three-story building to support [the] growth of their campus,” the notice said.
The expansion will reportedly total 465,000 sq ft (43,200 sqm). Timelines weren't shared.
Further details will reportedly be shared at the meeting, due to be held at 6pm at the McKinley Park branch of the Chicago Public Library, 1915 W. 35th St., Chicago.
The campus was a former Sun Times Press Facility and was acquired in 2014. Blackstone-owned QTS launched a data center there in 2016.
According to QTS’ website, the 26-acre campus currently totals 467,000 sq ft; the campus has a total capacity of 125MW.
