The Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) has inaugurated a data center at Karachi's Jinnah International Airport.

The data center will be used to centralize all the data from the airport's operations and the PAA's headquarters, and aims to improve operations for airports across Pakistan, as reported by the Associated Press of Pakistan

Details about the data center, including its IT capacity and size, have not been shared. The PAA described it as "modern and fully equipped."

Air vice marshal Zeeshan Saeed said at the inauguration: “This facility will strengthen our operational capabilities, improve data management, and ensure more efficient airport services."

Following the data center deployment, the airport will now be able to implement e-gates, WiFi, and 5G connectivity within the airport.

Pakistan has a relatively small data center market, with hubs in Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad. Operators include PTCL, Multinet, Cybernet, and NetSat, among others. In the past few months, oil firm Mari and Indus Cloud and Huawei have announced plans to establish data centers in the country.
