NOV and TerraFlow Energy have partnered on a project to determine how advanced fiberglass solutions can support energy storage applications for AI-scale power infrastructure.
The tie-up will combine TerraFlow’s long-duration energy storage technology with NOV’s fiberglass expertise.
“Customers need infrastructure that performs reliably and scales with growing power demand,” said Gavin MacMillan, president of Fiber Glass Systems at NOV. “We bring decades of experience delivering composite solutions for industrial applications, and this collaboration allows us to apply that expertise to emerging energy storage opportunities.”
According to the companies, the partnership is in response to the growing concerns of securing reliable power for energy-intensive data center operations. The companies note that long-duration storage has increasingly come into vogue as a potential key player within the data center power sector, reflected in several deals signed over recent years, including big names such as Google and Meta.

TerraFlow Energy is a Texas-based energy technology and manufacturing company that builds long-duration flow batteries. Its core product, dubbed LDUPS, is designed as a high-capacity flow battery positioned between the electrical grid and the computing facility.
NOV (formerly National Oilwell Varco) is a major American multinational corporation based in Houston, Texas, that designs, manufactures, and sells equipment and components used in oil and gas drilling and production operations.
