European data center firm has launched a new facility in Eindhoven, the Netherlands.
The company held an opening ceremony for its Eindhoven 2 facility over the weekend.
"Our second data center in Eindhoven, The High Tech Gateway, was festively opened yesterday! We would like to thank all our guests for a very festive afternoon,” the company posted on LinkedIn.
Located at the GDC Eindhoven-Acht business park and known as the High Tech Gateway, the new 4,000 sqm (43,055 sq ft) data center offers 2,500 sqm (26,910 sq ft) of white space. Built to Tier III standards, the facility offers 4.5MW of capacity.
Plans for the new site, the company’s second in Eindhoven, were announced in December 2022. It was originally set to launch in October 2023.
NorthC was formed in 2019 from the merger of Dutch data center firms TDCG and NLDC, originally a subsidiary of Dutch telecoms company KPN. In recent years, it has begun expanding to other European countries, buying Netrics in Switzerland as well as IP Exchange in Germany.
Today the company operates around a dozen data centers in the Netherlands; two in Germany; and four in Switzerland.
