Infinaxis has topped out its data center in Cyberjaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Announced by the company on LinkedIn, the topping out ceremony was held earlier this month.
Infinaxis is a joint venture between Gaw Capital Partners and A3 Capital. The company announced plans for the Cyberjaya data center in February 2023 and began construction that October.
The data center will have 12MW of capacity and is planned to accommodate up to 80kW per rack.
The facility will span 17,000 sqm (182,986 sq ft) across 10 data halls and house up to 1,830 cabinets.
In addition to the Cyberjaya data center, Infinaxis has another plot of land that will be available for future expansion.
Gaw Capital Partners is based in Hong Kong and has previously invested in data centers through a JV with Cetrin in China to create the company Data Center First. The company is a private equity fund manager, focusing on real estate markets in Asia Pacific. This year has seen Gaw partner with GDS for a data center campus in Tokyo, Japan.
A3 is a real estate investment firm focused on data centers and industrial properties.
Cyberjaya has a notable data center market, with the likes of Vantage and Equinix currently seeking to develop data centers in the region. In August, Amazon Web Services launched a cloud region in Malaysia, and is known to be developing a facility in Cyberjaya.
