BDx Data Centers could be put up for sale, with current owner reportedly I Squared Capital seeking up to $2 billion for the APAC operator.

Investment firm I Squared is considering its options for the future of BDx, according to a report from Bloomberg, which cites sources close the company.

It is said to have held talks with advisors about a possible disposal of the data center firm, with other investors, and businesses operating in the space, having apparently expressed an interest.

No decision has been taken about whether to pursue a sale, and I Squared could change its plans, the Bloomberg report said. Both companies declined to comment when approached by the news agency.

BDx was founded in 2019 and is headquartered in Singapore. It has an extensive portfolio of data centers and Edge facilities across APAC, including Singapore, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Mainland China, and Taiwan. The company is seeking to grow its portfolio across APAC to 1GW, and last year announced that it had secured funding for its first hyperscale data center project in Hong Kong.

US-based I Squared Capital has assets worth $50 billion under management, and is an investor in other digital infrastructure companies, including data center firm nLighten, which it established in 2023.
