“As the sun settles tonight we reflect with gratitude all the hard work our HostDime Colombia 🇨🇴 familia has put to get this next-generation purpose-built Public Tier IV Data Center online last month in Bogota, Colombia,” HostDime CEO Manny Vivar said on LinkedIn this week. "Fully operational and ready to service the local Colombia market needs of the public & private cloud providers, hybrid clouds, multi-clouds, interconnection ecosystem, network peering, businesses, and enterprise colocation."

The 70,000 sq. ft. purpose-built facility, located in an industrial park in Tocancipá, North Bogotá, offers 6MW of power. It is Uptime Tier IV certified.

First announced in early 2020 and set to go live in the summer of 2022, the facility will be built in four phases and eventually have around 50,000 sq ft (4,600 sqm) of IT space at full build-out.

HostDime was founded in 2003 and opened its first data center in Florida in 2003. The company owns and operates data centers in the US, India, Mexico, and Brazil, and rents space in third-party facilities in Colombia, Hong Kong, and the UK.

The company is developing another facility in Orlando, Florida, and last year acquired land for a new 70,000 sq ft, 6MW data center in Guadalajara, Mexico
