Fujitsu is set to team up with Nvidia to integrate its Monaka CPUs with the chip giant’s GPUs to create a high-performance infrastructure to power AI.

In an expansion of the pair’s existing strategic collaboration, the companies plan to create full-stack infrastructure for AI using Nvidia’s recently unveiled NVLink Fusion. The offering allows external partners to create semi-custom AI infrastructure, pairing non-Nvidia accelerators with Nvidia hardware in rack-scale solutions.

Fujitsu is set to be among the early movers to take advantage of Nvidia playing ball with its notoriously proprietary stack – with the pair also coming together to co-develop an AI agent platform. Fujitsu’s CPUs and Nvidia’s GPUs will form the basis of computing infrastructure powering industry-specific agentic AI solutions for sectors like healthcare, manufacturing, and robotics. The team-up will initially focus on markets in Japan before expanding globally.

Fujitsu is a true pioneer in computing and Japan’s trusted leader in supercomputing, quantum research, and enterprise systems,” Nvidia CEO and founder Jensen Huang noted in a statement. “Together, Nvidia and Fujitsu are connecting and extending our ecosystems to forge a powerful partnership for the era of AI.”

The offering will be built on Fujitsu’s AI platform, dubbed Kozuchi. That platform, which debuted in October 2024, provides cloud-based AI services, including an AI agent that uses multiple underlying AI models to extract insights from business data. The agentic service was initially used in business profitability discussions and negotiations, but has since expanded to broader applications like production management and legal affairs.

The Japanese giant’s AI workload orchestrator technology will also be paired with Nvidia’s Dynamo modular inference framework to power a platform to streamline AI adoption for enterprises with optimized inferences.
