Fujitsu has announced that its Fujitsu-Monaka CPU will be available for purchase starting November 2026.
The CPU will be available as a standalone product or in a Monaka server, which has been integrated, developed, and manufactured in Japan.
In a statement, Fujitsu said the CPU-powered server will be offered to “select customers” in the financial, telecommunications, and manufacturing sectors starting in the second half of 2026, with shipments to then commence sequentially from April 2027, in Japan and Europe.
The rack-mounted servers will be available in 2U (two CPUs) and 1U (one or two CPUs) versions, ideal for AI agents and AI inference, the company said. Additionally, Fujitsu said it plans to add high-density servers for AI data centers and rack-scale servers that enable autonomous operation, such as automated maintenance using robots, to its product lineup.
Built on 2nm technology, Fujitsu-Monaka chips integrate with GPUs and other accelerators, and use a microarchitecture optimized for advanced 3D packaging and ultra-low voltage circuit operation.
Fujitsu said the CPUs have a maximum operating frequency of 3.8GHz and a memory transfer speed of 8800MTps (megatransfers per second) and claims it delivers twice the AI inference throughput and superior power efficiency compared to other CPUs, therefore halving the number of servers and power consumption required for equivalent processing loads.
Meanwhile, the Monaka server has a “space-saving and power-efficient design” which Fujitsu said allows for deployment in air-cooled data centers. According to Fujitsu, the 1U server can operate in ambient temperatures up to 40°C (104°F) with air cooling and water temperatures up to 45°C (113°F) with water cooling, without requiring specialized cooling infrastructure, reducing server cooling power consumption by up to 80 percent.
