Financial technology and payments firm Fiserv is selling its data center in Brookfield, Wisconsin.
The property, located at 255 Fiserv Drive in Waukesha County, consists of two interconnecting buildings totaling 186,000 sq ft (17,200 sqm) on an 18-acre site.
After relocating its headquarters from Brookfield to downtown Milwaukee earlier this month, Fiserv previously said it had not finalized any decisions on the sale or lease of its Brookfield facility.
The Brookfield facility has now been listed for sale by CBRE as a ‘Fortune 500 corporate headquarters,’ combining office and data center space.
The south building, built in 1992, has three floors spanning 122,800 ft (11,400 sqm). The north building was added to the property in 1998, adding two floors over 64,000 sq ft (5,900 sqm). Details of the data center space are not known.
CBRE said the property offers an opportunity for owner use across the entire property or a multi-tenant investor for one or both buildings. Excess land on the property offers potential for development to alternative uses including multifamily or senior housing.
Fiserv received a $7 million incentive from the state to relocate to Milwaukee. The terms of this contract stated that Finserv must have 580 employees at the new headquarters in Milwaukee with that figure rising to 780 by its fourth year.
The majority of Fiserv’s current 658 full-time employees are located in Milwaukee, as per the terms of the contract. Fiserv is required to keep its headquarters in the new 170,000 sq ft (15,000 sqm) Milwaukee premises for a minimum of 16 years.
