European fiber firm Eurofiber has acquired Luxembourg-based connectivity provider LuxNetwork.

Eurofiber said the deal would strengthen its position in the Benelux and support its long-term European ambitions for open-access digital infrastructure.

LuxNetwork provides Internet, managed networks, SD-WAN, cloud, and data center connectivity solutions. The company recently deployed a 400G Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM).

Terms of the agreement were not shared.

“LuxNetwork’s high-capacity DWDM network significantly strengthens our international footprint. With this, we broaden our open access connectivity footprint, benefiting key customer groups such as financial institutions, media, tech, and hyperscalers,” said Hans Witdouck, CEO of Eurofiber Belgium.

“It enables us to deliver highly reliable and secure connectivity to organizations across Europe, while continuing to invest locally in Luxembourg. Local customers will continue to benefit from dedicated support from the Luxembourg office.”

Luc Lutot, CEO and founder of LuxNetwork, added: “Becoming part of Eurofiber represents a natural next step in LuxNetwork’s development over recent years, enabling us to expand our expertise, meet growing demand for high-capacity connectivity, and become one of Europe's major players.”

“It also recognizes the work done by our team over the years. Their expertise, commitment, and proximity to customers are at the heart of our success and will remain unchanged as we move forward together.”

Earlier this month, Eurofiber announced a partnership with Netways Europe for a private 5G venture.

Eurofiber operates a fiber optic network stretching from the Netherlands to Belgium, France, and Germany. It also provides cloud infrastructure solutions from a number of data centers across France, the Benelux, and Germany, according to its website.
