Infrastructure player Eurofiber has partnered with Netways Europe for its private 5G offering. The announcement was framed as helping to meet growing demand for open digital infrastructure.

The Dutch network solution provider joins Nokia, NTT Data, and Greenet as the latest partner to join Eurofiber’s Mobile Private Networks (MPN) service, which aims to provide full mobile network control for enterprises, independent of public mobile networks and standard Wi-Fi.

Netways Europe is positioned as the deployment partner for MPN, with Eurofiber, NTT Data, and Greenet focusing on network and technology delivery.

In a recent SDxCentral analysis, execs from Ericsson and T-Mobile claimed the private 5G market continued to face hurdles, with Ericsson noting nebulous use case goals and the over-complex nature of private network architectures.

Ericsson recently celebrated some private 5G success by deploying a mobile private network for Portuguese industrial firm Cimpor.

The cement producer’s new network included IoT sensors, autonomous vehicles, and other connected systems, with Ericsson providing drones, video cameras for safety monitoring, and worker tablets to the project.

Vodafone Portugal, meanwhile, worked with Cimpor to define the core network parameters, while helping with the installation and configuration of the radio equipment.
