Australian data center module provider DXN is to deliver an indoor pod for a telephone exchange in Perth.

The company has signed a AUD$1.6 million (US$1.1m) contract to provide its indoor StructCore Solution to Ventia at Pier Street, Perth, Western Australia.

Ventia will be supporting a major Australian telco and infrastructure owner, with the module deployed in an exchange that the telco owns and operates.

Further details weren’t shared. Telstra operates the Pier Exchange from 98 Pier Street in Perth, while DC West operates a facility at 234 Pier Street.

Shalini Lagrutta, managing director of DXN, said: “We are thrilled to announce the signing of this contract with Ventia for a major telco infrastructure company. This partnership is a clear testament of our product team’s ability to solve real-world gaps in the data centre market through the telecommunications market segment.”

StructCore is a new prefabricated data center offering for indoor-based customer deployments in existing or brownfield sites.

Under the agreement, DXN will provide design, prefabrication, and construction of the module. Testing and delivery are planned for November/December 2025.
