Digital Edge has signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Hexa Climate Solutions for 83MW of solar power to support the first phase of its 350MW BOM campus in Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra, India.
The PPA was signed following a competitive tender. Power to the data center will be delivered in phases, beginning in December 2026. The length of the PPA was not disclosed.
“This 83MW PPA demonstrates how renewable energy can scale with the country’s digital economy, setting a new benchmark for green infrastructure. We work closely with our customers to design solutions that are reliable, scalable, and aligned with their net‑zero goals, and we look forward to expanding our partnership as Digital Edge’s India platform grows,” said Sanjeev Aggarwal, founder & chairman, Hexa Climate Solutions.
In addition to the PPA, Digital Edge India has announced a water sustainability partnership with its customers and the local community to deploy liquid cooling powered by 10 million liters of recycled water per day, which it claims is an industry first in India. According to the companies, the solution will enable the BOM campus to target an annualized PUE of 1.25 and a Water Utilization Effectiveness below 1.75, and will also provide a new source of revenue for the community through water purchases.
“These initiatives demonstrate what can be achieved when we work hand-in-hand with customers and local stakeholders who share our vision for sustainable digital infrastructure,” said John Freeman, Group CEO of Digital Edge. “From pioneering large-scale recycled water deployment to securing a long-term renewable energy PPA, we are building a resilient, future-ready platform that delivers positive environmental and community impact.”
The BOM campus is being developed in partnership with the National Investment and Infrastructure Fund (NIIF) and AGP DC InvestCo Pte Ltd. Plans for the campus first emerged in January 2023. The companies broke ground on the first phase of the campus in May 2024, with the entire facility expected to cost approximately $2 billion.
Backed by I Squared Capital, Hexa is a renewable energy developer based in Gurgaon, India. As of early 2026, the company has approximately 3GW of capacity in operation, under construction, or in advanced stages of development in the Indian market.
New York-based private equity firm Stonepeak Infrastructure Partners formed Digital Edge in August 2020. The company has more than a dozen data centers in operation or construction across the APAC region. First announced in January 2023, the company broke ground on its 300MW data center campus in Navi Mumbai in 2024.
